It’s Good Friday and there was an old belief that the weather we had on this day was an indication of the next 40 days.
Certainly 40 is significant in the Bible so there’s some connection there, but I don’t believe our weather patterns are dictated by this day.
This is a weekend many people think about beliefs.
I just finished reading Deepak Chopra’s book, Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment. It certainly gives one pause to reflect on the message of the Son of Man.
In the book, we are asked to look at others as the Creator sees them. Instead of seeing enemies everywhere around us – I know I often do – we are asked to shift our perception, even slightly, and it can have a profound effect.
When evangelicals tell people, Jesus loves you, perhaps they should be saying instead, I love you.
Jesus taught that we all have the divine within us. On many levels we are just like Jesus.
Something interesting to reflect on in these important three days in Christianity.
