Wings Lord It Over Kings

I was watching the Red Wings-Kings game Sunday and it reminded me of all that I like about hockey.
It was good, solid play with two competitive teams who respected each other. Lots of shots and lots of stops.
Jimmy Howard made 45 saves in the Wings’ net.
It certainly looked like OT when Alex Martinez tied it for the Kings after the extra attacker came on with less than a minute to play.
But the Wings weren’t to be denied their due. With 4.5 seconds left, Detroit D Jonathan Ericsson hammered a shot that trickled through Jonathan Quick’s pads. Quick hung his head.
It certainly was an exciting match.
