In honour of children all around the world, make sure you add a little playtime into your day.
Let the child inside of you shine, no matter your age.
Here is info on the day from the UN website: “By resolution 836(IX) of 14 December 1954, the General Assembly recommended that all countries institute a Universal Children’s Day, to be observed as a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children. It recommended that the Day was to be observed also as a day of activity devoted to promoting the ideals and objectives of the Charter and the welfare of the children of the world.”
We have a long way to go to make children safe around the world and ensure they have rights. Making it a crime to hit a child would be a good start.
This year, the UN Secretary-General is launching a new initiative Education First. It will raise the political profile of education, strengthen the global movement to achieve quality education and generate additional and sufficient funding through sustained advocacy efforts.
Here’s to kids!!!!
