Companies want to be in on Olympic action

The London Olympics, opening in two days, will boost the UK economy, the Bank of England has said. And companies want to be seen and heard at the Games.

As an example, I received a news release this week about athletes at the Games receiving free manicures and pedicures.

The company, CND Shellac, says the manicures will last as long as the Games.

Company spokesperson John Prothero told me the company is thrilled to be able to work with athletes and he doesn’t see this as a business move.

“It is a great opportunity for all involved to be associated with such a prestigious event and have the opportunity to provide a service to those taking part – it is this, rather than a business opportunity, which has led to everyone’s involvement and hard work.”

Will watch to see if any athletes are sporting these customized nails.
