Northridge public school lost a great student to a brain tumour.
Now students at the school have a chance to remember Treise through a project called Kindness Crusader.
They could also win a prize.
Treise’s parents are asking pupils to write a short story on something kind they have done.
In their daughter’s memory, they will then give monetary prizes to the Top 3 stories and the writers will in turn give that money to the charity of their choice.
It’s a great way to remember a beloved pupil and daughter and at the same time, help other charities.
Bill Payne, a family friend, said Treise was a special person.
“She really was the most unique and kind child I have ever known,” Payne said.
“From the moment I met Triese I always felt like I was in the presence of pure love.”
We could all use more Kindness Crusaders in our lives and we can also try to be kind to someone else.
Thanks to Treise’s parents for providing this photo.
My condolences to her family. What a great project to honour her.
